Few bands could be said to embody the spirit of the 1960s more comprehensively than the Incredible String Band. On albums such as The Hangman's Beautiful Daughter or Wee Tam and the Big Huge with their epic perspectives, pantheistic lyrics and visionary synthesis of musical forms, they gave the hippie generation some of their most emblematic anthems.
Mike Heron continues to make music today. Collaborating with his daughter, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Georgia Seddon, their musical journey has taken them from village halls and festivals to the Hollywood Bowl, where they performed with The Album Leaf, alongside Devendra Banhart and Gilberto Gil. Latterly, a strong musical relationship has been forged with the Trembling Bells. Recent performances with this young Glasgow band have drawn unanimous praise, and garnered five-star reviews of their performances inculding Celtic Connections. Playing alongside Mike Heron are Georgia Seddon, Mike Hastings (guitarist with the Trembling Bells), and violinist John Wilson (aka Frog Pocket).
